What is an Herbal CSA?

This herbal community supported apothecary is a monthly medicine and knowledge sharing subscription that runs for 4 months, December-March. It is a collection of freshly brewed, potent herbal remedies crafted from seasonally available herbs and created to support vitality and wellness.

Each month participants will receive 5 of my homegrown herbal medicines in generous quantities, with a handout including thorough information about all of the herbs and remedies featured that month. This knowledge sharing includes detailed information on how the herbs work in our bodies, how and when to work with the remedies, appropriate dosage information, safety precautions in regard to potential interactions with medications and health conditions, as well as personal stories of growing the medicines and creating the remedies.

Each monthly share includes a selection of the following freshly made remedies: tincture blend, essence blend, tea blend, herbal syrup, oxymel, infused honey, infused oil, salve, herbal bath salts, and soap, to name a few!

Throughout the winter & spring seasons, you can support your wellness and build yourself a home apothecary with safe and effective remedies grown and crafted by an experienced medicine maker. Each monthly herbal CSA share contains a lot of medicine! As a participant, you will find that you’ll be able to regularly use the remedies and also build up a well-stocked home apothecary to have on hand when needed. Most of the remedies included will stay good for 3+ years and do not need refrigeration.

This herbal CSA is perfect for those with a range of experiences and interests, including:

• those wanting to build up their home herbal apothecary and culinary pantry

• herbalists and herbalism students who want to deepen their herbal medicine knowledge

• beginners new to herbal medicine who want to learn more about how to incorporate it into their lives while having the support of an herbal CSA

What does a sample share look like?

Example of a share in:

• Dec : immunity boosting tincture, herbal syrup, infused honey, tea blend, salve

• March : herbal soap, nourishing body oil, digestive bitters, culinary herb salt, vinegar tonic

Sliding scale info

The herbal CSA is offered at sliding scale rates of $300-$500, the structure of which is based on mutual aid and solidarity; folks with more access and privilege pay more so folks who are up against more barriers can pay less. Pricing reflects the cost of materials and the labor invested into growing and preparing all of the remedies.
